Analysing Existing Book Covers | Bad Book Cover Designs

I mean, as a disclaimer I'm gonna have to say that I think these book  covers are bad, in my opinion. I think you'll agree though that they're pretty bad.

  • Broad swords and alien Ice mountains would have really improved the original text... or would they?
  • Basically this cover has nothing to do with the content of the book.
  • And none of the fonts match.
  • And they all look awful, especially the podgy title font.
  • And the placement of the font is bad. Why is it so low down? To cover up as much of this horrendous image as possible?
  • Weird wide yellow space at the top.
farewell

  • Makes sense I guess, it is set in Italy, hense flag.
  • There is a romance.
  • It does look like shitty low budget "getting over grief" pamphlet though with the ghostly war figures.
pimp

  • Cheap briefcases and badly photo-shopped kittens during the French revolution? Really?
huck

  • Has me really wondering if I missed this scene in Huckleberry Finn.
  • Other than that the layout is actually OK.

  • UM. WHY DID THEY REPRESENT THIS FAIRYTALE WITH A WOMAN THAT HAS TENTACLES GROWING OUT OF HER PELVIS. AND WHY ARE THEIR SKULLS?
crackann

  • Pretty sure Anne of Green Gables was a red-headed farm girl, so why they made this look like a Mills and Boon novel is confusing to me.
dorothy

  • Why is it set on a red desert planet?
  • Why are there fighter jets?
  • I'm starting to wonder if all these covers are actually real.
alice

  • This one I just think is really boring.
  • With all the fantastical imagery available to them in this book they went with stripey tights for the cover? zzzZZZZZZZZZZZZ
