It concerns me that the cover comes from no particular scene and I should probably find one, then go back and alter bits of the imagery to fit that scene specifically so as not to confuse the reader.
Although, I do like the colour scheme and simplicity of the cover and this the layout works really well. As a lot of the book is spent going on about the three of them travelling, like I said, it also sets a good tone for what the book is about. Since the first book in the series is about them setting off on a journey too, this cover also mirrors that.
I just worry that because there is no action and travelling isn't exactly the most exiting thing, this may not make readers go YES I WANT TO READ THIS NOW.
The second cover is of an actual scene. Its of the point in the novel where Silk and Barak meet Garion, Pol and Belgarath in the woods and Garion flees, thinking they are bandits. This is the first point in the story where the whole party are together so I think it would make a good cover, I really like the wrap around on this cover and think the image has a really exiting perspective. I worry with the characters being so bold on the cover though it might look more like an illustration than a book cover, aesthetically.
The third illustration I don't really like that much, but it's one I just had to knock out to get it out of my head. It's your typical character front cover with the first, inciting location, Faldors farm, on the reverse cover, It's in general a bit boring.
