Showing sketch underneath apron and below that, sketch underneath skirt.
Tried multiple versions, many with the apron runched up in the characters hands but this version showed off the apron designs better, whilst the other versions hid it.
Initially started with a slimmer, more "traditionally attractive" face shape but I decided that, especially wen zoomed out, the more "square" shaped face projected a more powerful, stubborn and haughty personality.
The first version seemed to soft and amicable for Polgara's character.

Design, zoomed out with first face and below, zoomed out with second face.
Flat shaded version of Polgara costume design and below; version showing the height of the character. Polgara in the books is described as being very tall and I wanted that to be shown in her character design.
An average person, gender non-specific is usually about 7.5 heads high. Polgara is said to be "almost as tall as a man". Whilst this isn't very specific, I went with 8 heads, this makes her quite tall visually as you can fit a lot of heads in her body, giving an illusion of height. (And also, this makes her drawing above an "average" height.)
I made this moodboard for Polgara's character earlier in the year. I have pulled it up now to use to influence my colour palette on her design

My design for Polgara has also changed a lot since my first sketch, which I am showing again here.
Dredging it back up from the depths of the blog.
I have tied her hair back, I felt as a cook, it would be a lot more practical than loose hair.
I ave kept a lot of straight lines and angles in her face, but I have squared it off, giving it a stronger shape from a design perspective and I think the square shape gives the impression of stubbornness which mimics hr character traits very well.
More variations on the costume design too, have given a more interesting outfit than what can be seen of the outfit on the initial sketch.
