Character Model Sheet | Layers of Clothing

I found this character model sheet of Jane from Tarzan showing the layers of the characters clothing. I thought this practice would be a good one to steal and use to showcase my own process. By drawing out the layers of the characters clothing I can make sure the layers of the outfit make sense and that they are wearable. This process has also made me add on a set of keys and a belted kitchen knife as personal items for the character to add a bit more interest to the design and personality/backstory to the outfit. 

The knife would be a good portable tool as Polgara is a cook. The keys would be for different rooms/cupboards in Polgara's house, to keep Garion out of things/places that aren't any of his business. Polgara is quite stern and secretive. I think a large set of keys mirrors this character trait.
